Radio Taxis completes infrastructure upgrade
Radio Taxis, the renowned London cab service, has completed a three-month infrastructure upgrade with PSTG.
As part of a wider office move programme, the taxi service has consolidated its critical phone systems into a single infrastructure offering reduced energy use and improved efficiency and resilience.
PSTG helped upgrade Radio Taxis’ core network to a virtual private local area network service that has cut costs, enhanced site and infrastructure resilience, improved efficiency and security, and given the company extra capacity for growth.
On telephony, a migration from an Integrated Services Digital Network to Session Initiation Protocol technology has helped cut costs by 80% while improving quality. The system has multi-site failover capacity for disaster recovery.
The new, fully redundant system replaces two office-based systems and is housed at a Tier 3 Volta data centre in central London, run as a managed service by PSTG.
It gives Radio Taxis a more scalable way of meeting customer demands, while also significantly reducing power consumption and carbon emissions.
